Watch List Run Down: Kamil Williams
On Friday night Park Vista(FL) defeated John L. Lenoard(FL) 82-63. All eyes were on 6'1 guard Kamil Williams as he scored 43 points and surpassed the 2000 point mark for his high school career. So far with 19 games under his belt this season Williams is averaging 26 points 5 rebounds 4 assists and 2 steals per game as his Park Vista team vies for a spot in the Florida State Playoffs.
Williams is comfortable playing both guard positions due to his ball handling and passing abilities, but according to his performance over the last two months he's certainly wired to score. On December 5, Williams went for 47 points against Boca HS, and 39 points versus Wellington two weeks later. He then posted 33 points in a win on January 10th, followed by 34 points 8 assists and 6 rebounds in a rematch against Boca. According to his numbers Williams manages to put marks on the stat sheet all across the board, but Williams has a scorers mentality.
"He's strong and rebounds really well for his height, the kid really shot it well when I saw him" Russ Wood National Basketball Recruiting Writer for Rivals.com
According to Park Vista assistant coach Harold Williams, Williams is already a qualifier holding a 3.1 core GPA and 1250 on the SAT. His recruitment is wide open with offers being from American, Lincoln Memorial, and Lynn Universities, with interest coming from Texas St., Stetson, and Coppin St. If Williams keeps up this scoring barrage there will surely be a host of schools interested in his services.
