USA Player Breaks Hoop Summit Scoring Record In Loss
The nations top shooting guard Shabazz Muhammad had his game turned up to the the max last night in the 2012 Nike Hoop Summit as he broke the events scoring record by notching 35 points on 12 for 27 shooting from the field. Despite Muhammad's record breaking performance the USA squad lost to the World Select team by the score of 84-75. For the World Select team it was Canadian Sophomore Andrew Wiggins that lead the way with 20 points and 7 rebounds.
The USA team trailed for the entire game, finding themselves down by 18 points at the half before they clawed their way back to take a short lead in the 4th quarter. Another Canadian, Findlay Prep forward and McDonalds All American Anthony Bennett hit the go ahead bucket on a hail marry three pointer from deep with the shot clock running down to give the World Select team the lead for good. USA's Kyle Anderson had a good game with 12 points 10 rebounds 4 assists and 3 steals. 7 foot Chinese center Whang Zhelin did damage with 19 points and 8 rebounds.
