Tough Break for 2016 Prospect
The countries top player in the 2016 class has suffered a major setback while out of the country with the USA Men's National U16 Team. 6'9 rising sophomore Harry Giles(Wesleyan Christian Academy, NC) went down with a knee injury last Wednesday in a win over Argentina at the FIBA Americas World Championships in Uruguay. Earlier today it was revealed that the knee injury was unfortunately more serious than expected. Giles has stated that he has suffered a torn ACL, MCL, and meniscus in his left knee. Giles' high school coach Keith Gatlin has confirmed that Giles will indeed have surgery soon, but no date has been announced. Giles, who is still 15 years old averaged 12 points and 9 rebounds as a freshamn, and has already gained scholarship offers from Ohio St., North Carolina St., and is the first freshman to ever be offered by University of North Carolina coach Roy Williams.
