After two weeks of live recruiting one top 100 player has decided to end all the phone calls and texts from coaches by announcing via twitter that he has committed to a school. 6’5 shooting guard Kameron McGusty(Katy, TX) let it be known that he has chosen to play his college ball at the University of Oklahoma.
McGusty has had a strong spring and summer traveling with the Houston Defenders, one that saw offers roll in from Florida, Georgia Tech, Texas A&M, Texas, Indiana, and Louisville. The Sooners will be losing reigning Big 12 Player of the Year Buddy Hield after next season so they will look to McGusty to possibly fill that void. The Texas A&M staff was trying to reel McGusty in with hopes that he would want to continue to play with his backcourt mate and A&M pledge JJ Caldwell. McGusty is an off guard that scores by creating with the ball in his hands, although he has proven to do a good job facilitating as well. The Texas guard will join small forward Kristian Doolittle as recruits in the Sooners 2016 class.
