Gonzaga spoils Carr’s 36 point performance

On MLK Day the DMV was in for a treat. Locals were able to witness two of the best teams in the Baltimore (Patterson) and Washington, DC (Gonzaga) Metro areas square up last night. You didn't have to worry about getting to the game early to see the Aquille "Crime Stopper" Carr for fear that if you were too late you wouldn't be admitted. The game was broadcasted locally on TV. Over 3000 people packed the gym at Calvin Coolidge High School in Washington, DC to see if Gonzaga would remain perfect on the season or if Aquille carr would live up to his name. Tavon Blackmon, guard for Gonzaga (DC), stated in an Washington Post interview that "you cant stop him (Aquille Carr) you just have to try and contain him." Dropping 36 points last night I would like to say that he did more than live up to his name and all DC has heard about him. However, Gonzaga had something else in mind. Being down with 1 second left the 6-6 junior forward Kris Jenkins splashed a 3 pointer and lead his team from 17 points down to victory. He finished with 26 points. Gonzaga also got some offensive power from junior Tavon Blackmon (13) and senior forward Will Rassman (18). Will Rassman also could be given the "assist" as he deflected the ball which landed in the hands of Kris Jenkins to set him up for the game winner. If you have noticed that you haven't heard me mention Nate Britt, the junior guard who signed with UNC. He sat and watched this thriller from the sidelines with a bruised calf. This win helped his team to remain perfect. They face Good Counsel tomorrow in their quest for perfection on this season.
