St. Anthony wins but Lincoln’s momentum is building despite loss

With the surprise return of Isaiah Whitehead.  Lincoln looked poised to do what 55 other teams couldn't previously do.  Beat St. Anthony.  Not your ordinary non-conference game, despite a ferocious attempt in the end to upset the Friars, the scoreboard read: St Anthony 51 - Lincoln 45.  Scrappy from start to finish, the Friars continue their win streak with two games left in the season before the playoffs.  Coach Hurley will take a win over a loss, but he can't be happy with the way his team played in the fourth quarter, especially down the stretch.  Their focus during games, even if they are ahead is crucial at this point of the season.  Lincoln took advantage of the Friars' lack of intensity in the final minutes, thanks to a great team effort on defense.  Ethan Telfair and Tafari Whittingham at times looked like a younger version of Chris Paul and DeAndre Jordan.  Telfair displayed his usual all-around point guard skills tallying 11 points and 8 assists.  He knows how to control the pace of the game and he makes his teammates better.  Great fight in the end for a Lincoln team building momentum.  If this is the time when they are getting better and peaking on this season.   With a healthy Whitehead, Telfair and Whittingham, Lincoln can be dangerous in the playoffs.
