Baltimore City Championship
Yesterday Morgan State University set the stage for the biggest matchup of the city; Patterson vs Dunbar. Patterson came into this game having beat several teams ranked higher than themselves or even with better records. Dunbar having only 3 losses in their resume had beaten Patterson once before in the regular season. Dunbar got major contributions from their seniors on the offensive end; Rodrick Harrison lead the team with 18 points, Evan Singletary chipped in with 16 points, Aaron Parham with 13, and Donte Pretlow with 10 points. But what ended up being the difference maker was their defense. The crime stopper was his normal self with a game high of 24 points, but his team fell to Dunbar 65-61. Congratulations to the Division 1 City Champion Dunbar Poets.
The Dunbar Poets start their playoff run next Tuesday (2/28) with a bye as they await the winner of the Southside Academy/Maritime Academy game. The Patterson Clippers look to rebound as they play Hereford in the first round of playoffs this Friday. Stay tuned, it's about to heat up!
