Allerik Freeman shows he’s more than just a scorer
Late last year a college coach contacted me about Top 10 2013 guard Allerik Freeman. I told this coach that Freeman is a scorer with a smooth jumpshot and has the physical strength to finish at the basket in traffic. One question I could not answer at the time was whether or not he could play the point.
When I saw Freeman would be coming to ATL to play in Norcoss' Hilton Invitational, I had to make time to catch his game because I was really eager to see his development since I last saw him in the Nike EYBL. After the first quarter, he quickly answered my question of his ability to play the point with his court vision, leadership, and elevating the play of his teammates. I was so impressed with his approach to the game because he never seemed rushed even when the defense turned up the pressure.
This kid will be a much watch on the spring and summer circuit for any big time college program. He already has offers from Arizona, Kansas, Kansas State, Georgetown, NC State, and Villanova.
